Year-round boarding facilities are available for those that want the financial advantages of alpaca ownership, without having to participate in the day-to-day care of the animals. Boarding is also helpful for those that are in the process of achieving their dream of their own ranch or farm. Yumedono Alpacas also serves as a Canadian/United States waypoint for those transporting animals throughout North America, or as a stopping point for transporters traveling across the country for shows. Our facilities are BVDV free, have high-quality pastures, heated automatic waterers, a large quarantine area, shelter in every pasture, and plenty of room to run and play.

Heat and humidity can adversely affect your alpacas' competitive edge. Summering them with us in Montana, where summers are mild, can give your animal a break from heat stress, promote longer staple length and quality, and give you a summer break too. The average high temperature in July is only 84 degrees, with less than 21% relative humidity. Alpacas that arrive for a summer stay before June 5th will be shorn and have their fiber professionally skirted for showing or professionally classed for processing.

Your animals will feel be secure behind our 5' no-climb fencing. They will be watched over by Kuma, the Great Pyrenees in the pastures, and protected by Toby, the Great Pyrenees that wards off predators by keeping them from ever approaching the fences. (The neighbor's livestock appreciate Toby's protection as well.) We observe the animals throughout the day as we both work from home.

All the animals at Yumedono Alpacas will receive the same high standard of care that our own animals enjoy. Feeding and clean-up are done daily to ensure the best health for your animals. There will not be extra charges for toenail trimming, shots, or worming. Vet charges will only be passed on to the owners for special care, or requests made by the owners.

All of this for only $2.50 per day. (Discount for 5 or more alpacas.)

Cria under 4 months are no charge. Those 4 months and older will be $1.00 per day until weaned. Crias will have access to a creep feeder.

Animals must be fully insured and arrive free of disease.
